User Experience and User Interface Designers.

In video games, UI is a vital and essential part of a video game. User Experience designers create the basic workflow, wireframe and structure of how a game is going to look, feel and how a player responds to the UI (aka user interface). The User Experience designer also has to understand their audience in order How does a User Experience create a good UI? Consistency in UI - same colors, same font, same button placement in UI. Similar good UI designs from previous games. Knowing how that UI works from your favorite game why is it useful? In Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 they have a wheel inventory which is effective, fast and responsive. Whereas The Legend of Zelda games on Nintendo 64 has 3 sided inventory screens on each side. Understanding the audience: From there, UI designers create visuals and art for the User Interface building upon the wireframes. In some instances, there are motion graphics played throughout a game to tell the player through visual language that they have done an objective, completed a level or gained an item in a game. Sometimes that same game can have different UI design which is suited for different platforms. There is are huge differences in a PC version and a Mobile version of a game. For example, Fortnite's layout makes some adaptions and changes in its UI design from the PC version to the mobile version.

Another example of UI changes for different platforms is Genshin Impact.

In the PC version of Genshin Impact, there are adapted UI changes in comparison to the mobile version When pressing the tab button you will get a wheel function UI whereas the mobile function lacks a wheel UI. Also there a keyboard shortcuts inside the PC version itself.

Some games have to do this to meet the user experiences for each platforms. Ideally you'll need a button to use on the touch screen on the phone for that game to function or a keyboard input button to use a certain function in game. WASD keys are used to move a character in game on PC platforms. Then you have console games in which you have the generic 'A' 'B' and 'X' buttons to use to perform a function when that button is pressed. This YouTube video I found upon researching user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) gives good insight on how UI design works and how UX benefits for game developers and UI designers.

Overall, User Interface is impacted by the design and User Experience helps influence the UI itself. This can apply to anything related to UI. From website design to video game HUDs - UX really does play a significant and vital role to UI designs.
