On 03/12/2021, I had a discussion with Chase and Jess about the progress of our work so far. We discussed about the new website, portfolio blog work etc. So far (as stated from my previous blog) Chase has one portfolio blog drafted and Jess has one portfolio blog published.
In two of our learning outcomes it is mentioned that "Use audience feedback, personal reflection, and 360-degree feedback in examining the effectiveness of collaborative process" and "evaluate audience feedback, in response to a creative media production." Once each of us are satisfied with the how the website looks in terms of design we will publish the website. Jess did mention that she would get someone to test the website out for us and will gain audience feedback. Similar to an assignment I had done last year I am considering of using that process again: Publish the website > test the website > gain audience feedback and/or personal reflection > make changes to the website > publish.
I made minor to medium changes on the website. I went through each page to see where change was needed. I focused on the 'About' and 'Contact' pages more than anything else whilst designing the website. We each agreed to take turns when creating the website. Jess mentioned that she would work on the website this weekend and that's fine by us considering I work on the weekends and I'm sure Chase is too therefore it's convenient for both of us and it allows others to work in their own times. On 06/12/2021, over the weekend I was very busy and didnt find the time or mood to have a look at the feedback from the user experience Jess sent over. So today (06/12/2021), I looked over the feedback of the website from the developer and the internet user. Here are the responses: Q1. What’s your first impression of the website?
Software Developer: The website is good and logically laid out
Average Internet User: The website is clean and professional
Q2. Is the website easy to navigate?
Software Developer: Yes, the website is concise
Average Internet User: Somewhat, the portfolio posts were hard to find
Q3. Is the website aesthetically pleasing?
Software Developer: Yes, the website looks reasonably professional and suits the purpose for which it’s been created
Average Internet User: Yes, the website is simple (see Q1 response)
Q4. If you could change something about the website, what would it be?
Software Developer: The Nescot logo could be rendered better, and lessen the amount of blank space/white space (add more sections of colour to break up the blankness)
Average Internet User: Size down the pixelated logo or find another alternative, consider moving the portfolio/posts into another sections (or moving them to be in the ‘work’ section, and renaming work to ‘Portfolio’)
After reading the feedback, the next step is to make changes to the portfolio posts, link the users portfolio accounts onto a 'portfolio' page and "size down the pixelated logo or find another alternative".
Once the changes are made (assuming they havent been done yet) then I would like to conduct a feedback form for our newlty created website.
Another goal we had in mind is to show everything we have so far once we submit the work before the 'deadline' that being 10/12/2021.
On 09/12/2021, I went onto the website to make a change on the pages. Originally it was called the 'work' page but changed the name to 'portfolio/work' page and on the bottom of the page I added a section for portfolios of our websites. I got in contact with my team mates over whatsapp that I told them I browsed the website and then made 2 changes to the portfolio/work page.
