To introduce the new unit - VFX Practices. We have been tasked to practice our VFX skills in the Nuke(X) software. Although in this task, I stuck with Nuke but in task 2, I change halfway through the process of the Nuke software from Nuke to NukeX. I opened up Nuke and set the project settings in the right-hand column. I changed the video output settings to HD_1080.
After implementing the read node, I had to adjust the screen size to 1080x1920 as the format size of the read node is too small.
My Fighter planes needed improvements and adjustments to the composition itself. Sam advised me to pace the planes and put them in one direction by syncrhonising the movements. Working with perspective, the foreground should be the fastest as it is close up whereas the background of the planes should be the slowest. I slowed the top plane down by adding more keyframes and widening the number of keyframes used. The opposite would happen for the bottom (foreground) plane. Here is the first version of the fighter planes video:
Here is the second version of the fighter planes video:
The noticeable difference in these videos here is how the planes follow one direction in synchronisation and the perspective of speeds the planes are moving. In the first video, it's a bit wonky and there's a lack of perspective where as the second video has that. Therefore, being an improvement to the VFX shot.
