The Python Brochure by Cade

Updated: Sep 6, 2019

The element I found the most interesting and appealing to me was: Massive influences and scales among the industry. Python So why did I find this interesting? There were a couple of points that caught my eye, one of them being: The first Programming Language for Google App Engine. The App itself is a visualized program environment which is interpreted by Python code. I thought this was interesting because it was their ‘first’ and they used it as an interpreter.

Moving on, it states in the brochure that Python impressed Mozilla (aka Mozilla Firefox). From what I can infer, they were “impressed” by it because they use it for a lot of things such as synchronizing bookmarks, passwords and open tabs. It’s used on multiple platforms such as computers and mobile phones etc. In addition, this is all written in Python. Therefore, they find it impressive to what Python could do.

ForestcastWatch does its entire code written in Python. Meteorologists compare the forcasts to the weather that occurred on that day alongside real measurement data. This is to optimise their calculation models and improve the quality of their forecasts. Globally, Python and the web based system ForestcastWatch are used for this purpose. I find that quite intriguing. It seems like they are trying to interpret their forecast to the real measurement data. Meaning, they are trying to keep the forecast 100% accurate at most.

Other businesses that use are: Youtube, SurveyMonkey, SMS Siemag, Blender, Houdini and last but not least, film industries. In fact, film industries wouldn’t be able to last without special effects and computer animations. Python plays a key part there. I’m honestly surprised by how much Python can interpret and can do so much more!
